St. Lucia

Over the course of what is now a trilogy of St. Lucia music videos produced by The Wild Honey Pie and animated by Lauren Haug, we have been immersed in a retro-futuristic visual world, where gaps seem to close between time and space, and at the center of it all is an appreciation for connection and creativity, and above all a youthful energy and colorful spirit that permeates St. Lucia’s sound. The animated music videos for “Rocket On My Feet,” “Another Lifetime,” and now “The Golden Age” each tell a different facet of the story that makes up St. Lucia’s latest EP, Utopia I.

In this latest video, we are presented with ten sepia-toned vignettes, many of which contain a photo-collage depiction of characters at various ages. Over the course of the video, each vignette comes to life with both movement and color, and by the end, each one is vibrantly telling its own story, as they come together to form the cover artwork of Utopia I. With artwork by Ryan Miller, and animation and direction by Lauren Haug (Haug Haus Creations), we’re excited to share this next chapter in the utopian tale spun by St. Lucia on their latest record.
