The singular release listed on iTunes under The Barr Brothers is a deceiving indicator. The Montreal/Rhode Island-based folk quartet is an experienced and diverse collective featuring, you guessed it, brothers Brad and Andrew Barr (both formerly of The Slip), as well as Andres Vial, and the beautiful Sarah Page.
A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to film with them in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With flashlights in hand, we illuminated the band and proceeded to film them as they performed “Cloud (For Lhasa)” and “Deacon’s Son” off of their 2011 self-titled debut record. Watch both videos below and if you fancy the studio recording, click here.
‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
