You Can Be Timeless – The Henry Clay People You Can Be Timeless – The Henry Clay People
Unafraid to reveal that they too struggle through life, The Henry Clay People take quite an unusual route on their road to producing music for the masses. Hailing from LA, The Henry Clay People aren’t all about perfection; they’re all about the people. Their lyrics are narrative tales of economic and personal struggle, showing that being a musician isn’t all glitz and glam. They also acknowledge the listeners as their equal by frequenting their tracks with the use of first-person words.
Their most recent album, For Cheap or for Free, is a collection of various genres (rock, country, indie), not scattered about, but meshed perfectly together. An I-don’t-give-a-damn attitude is present in the (what almost sound angry) vocals and the dragged out chords of the guitars. Even the instrumental solos are mellowed out, making for the perfect album for a night of kicking back with the crew.
The Henry Clay People will further embrace their anti-mainstream attitude and bond with the people this summer by releasing their debut LP via TBD Records. They will also be touring with Drive By Truckers this May. You can find out their tour dates, or just take a listen to their tunes on their Myspace by clicking here.
