More than any current director, Adam Spiegel aka Spike Jonze is embracing the indie music community.  For the trailer of his 2009 film, Where The Wild Things Are, he personally approached Arcade Fire, and supposedly gave them a private preview of the clip to woo them.  Obviously, it worked, as “Wake Up” appeared in the epic trailer (one of my favorites of all time).

Jonze worked with Arcade Fire again this year when the band was looking for an official video for “The Suburbs”.  The result was a brilliant visual representation of the band’s latest title track (analysis here).  In addition, Jonze co-directed the music video for LCD Soundsystem’s “Drunk Girl”.

For his latest short film I’m Here, “a 30-minute love story about the relationship between two robots living in L.A.”, the talented writer/direction called upon Sam Spiegel, L.A.-based art musician Aska Matsumiya, and other emerging musicians in creating the soundtrack for his robot love-fest.  Listen to the entire soundtrack here first.  Also, read the details below for instructions for how to win a signed movie poster.

“In celebration of the holiday season and success of the movie, Chicago’s Chocolate Industries is putting out a limited edition CD and 100 autographed I’m Here movie posters signed by Spike Jonze exclusively here to follow up the October iTunes release.”
