Tennis has become one of the summer’s hottest buzzbands (bro) and for incredibly good reason. Their light, airy melodies compliment the summer heat in a way that most other lo-fi artists can’t. Their music is filled with a vibrant passion and a naivete that forces an irresistible quality upon the listener’s ears. But perhaps even more amazing than the music Tennis is making is the story behind the band.

Tennis is a husband-wife duo (comprised of Patrick Moore and Alaina Riley) hailing from Denver, Colorado. The band has only been making music since December 2009, and their inspiration for becoming musicians was a 7 month long sailing trip up and down the eastern seaboard (which explains the titles of tracks like Baltimore and South Carolina). Their newest single,  Cape Dory is a reference to the model sailboat they were on during their sailing expedition.

Tennis is expected to release a new 7” sometime soon, and begin hitting a few cities on a mini-tour. They will play New York on August 25th at the Cake Shop in Manhattan, and August 26th at Glasslands in Brooklyn.
