Hey Jackettes. Ben here again. We’re back home in scenic Somerville after being out on the road for a week! We played at The Fire in Philadelphia. It’s a really cool place and a lot of bands from Damien Rice and Cold War Kids to Iron & Wine have played there. I really dig historical places like that. It feels like a kind of rite of passage to play at those kinds of clubs. You go into the bathroom and see all the stickers of local bands on the walls and Sharpie pen graffiti and you think of all the people who were probably standing right there where you are now, staring at the same wall. It’s a nice feeling.
Next up on the docket was NYC. We played two shows in the area before heading back home. Both of them, at Fat Baby and the National Underground, were overwhelmingly wonderful. In particular, the Fat Baby show was a good one. There was that “x-factor” of energy darting around the room like chain lighting and nobody could stop it. We hit Watertown a few days after playing with our local friends, Moss Points North, a powerhouse group in their own right. Now the band has a few days off before we hit it hard with three shows in three days. We’re starting things off with a pool party for a friend’s graduation party. Yes please to golden sun and rock n’ roll.
We’ve had an absolute ball on the tour so far meeting everyone from porn editors in Philly to making new friends that seem like you’ve known them before. Here are a few shots from the road. Hope you enjoy.
Music Love,
SJ
