We all know that music is powerful, that it can tug on your every emotion, that it can make you sleepy, happy, sad and that it can transport you magically to the past. With Portland-based Pure Bathing Culture, I can’t help but to comment on the hypnotic feelings their music seems to induce. Their songs "Pendulum" and "Dream The Dare," recorded here for our Buzzsession at Vinegar Hill Sound in Brooklyn, are the perfect example of how a band can create an atmosphere that, with smooth synths, flickering guitar tones and quivering vocals, is able to stop you dead in your tracks and make you feel all the feelings. I can already sense that years from now these songs will take me back to this glorious day we spent in the studio.
