With the departure of Vladimir Guerrero, Chone Figgins, and John Lackey the Angels had to do something to spice up their line-up and their pitching staff. Off-season additions of Joel Pineiro and Fernando Rodney at least attempted to bandage some of the wounds caused by Lackey’s whopping new contract with the Red Sox. So what about batting?

The answer has to be Hideki Matsui this year. After earning the 2009 World Series MVP title, Matsui got the attention of the Angels quickly. The fans applauded the signing and there have already been Matsuiland sign sightings in the outfield at The Big A. Matsui had decent numbers last year so time will tell whether this signing was truly worthwhile. With all the changes in the Angels line-up, and their new found dependency on Matsui, there is but one song that can be played as the Angels go Up At Bat this season and its the 80s classic Turning Japanese by The Vapors.

A song once thought to be purely about masturbatory habits, is hardly that at all. Instead, David Fenton explains that the song is about turning into something you never expected. And that is precisely what the Angels are doing. They are adding veteran leadership to the rotation, calling up Brandon Wood to play full-time at 3rd base, potentially bringing up Trevor Reckling at some point this season, and of course they are Turning Japanese at the DH slot with Hideki Matsui. Without further ado, I present to you the top 100 Billboard smash hit by England’s very own The VaporsTurning Japanese.
