Scott Hansen’s Tycho recently performed two sold-out nights at Brooklyn Steel. The ambient group released their latest album, Epoch (through Ghostly International), in 2016, and this was their first time playing the record in New York. The band started the set with “Glider” from Epoch, and played a series of tunes from previous albums, 17 in all, including “Past is Prologue,” “L,” “Daydream” and “Awake.” Fan favorite, “Montana,” was the encore.
Tycho’s longtime music pal Thomas Mullarney from Beacon joined stage and featured in “See” (Beacon is currently on tour with Tycho). With the magnificent visual projections in the background and the unforgettable sounds from the band, Tycho truly put on one of the best shows Brooklyn Steel has seen thus far.
