We’re packing our bags and heading up to the beautiful town of Newport, Rhode Island for the Newport Folk Festival. This festival has never really been on my radar lately despite being one of the most influential festival in rock and roll history. Case in point —-> in 1965, the Newport Folk Festival was home to Bob Dylan’s first-ever electric set (more info on Wikipedia). Johnny Cash, Joan Baez, the Allman Brothers Band, Jimmy Buffet, Damien Marley, and Jakob Dylan have all graced Newport’s stage as well. Who am I missing (there’s gotta be tons)?
This year’s lineup is golden. Some of my personal favorite will be there, and we’re even going to have the chance to shoot some of our BUZZsessions. Check out this year’s lineup (and videos from last year) below, and let us know which acts we can’t miss. Click “like” above if you’re going to be in attendance!
