![THEMIGRANT THEMIGRANT 530x651 THE MIGRANT TAKES A LOOK AT ELLIS ISLAND [BUZZSESSION]](http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/THEMIGRANT-530x651.jpg)
Austin-based band, The Migrant, was curious about New York. Bjarke Bendtsen, the band’s Danish lead singer, was so curious in fact, that our original plan was to film this session on Ellis Island. What a perfect setting for a band called The Migrant. Unfortunately, the line was monstrous, and we were not about to wait hours when we could have very well been rejected with musical instruments and video equipment in hand.
After wandering around Battery Park, we found a nice spot right up against the water where Bendtsen and his fellow band members proceeded to play three flawless tunes. A boisterous trumpeter foiled our plans, however, leaving us only with the video below. If you’re itching to see more of The Migrant, they’re currently on tour in the US with a European tour to follow (click here for tour dates).

‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
