My love for The Antlers’ music started at about the same time I started The Wild Honey Pie.  I was living in London and found “Two” and “Bear” via a classmate.  Their third studio release, Hospice, was one of my top 10 albums of 2009, and ever since I’ve been patiently waiting for their next album.

On May 10th, the wait will be over as Pete Silberman and company are set to release Burst Apart via Frenchkiss Records.  As difficult as it can be to match the success of an album such as Hospice, if anyone can do it, it’s The Antlers.

Our first taste of their evolution was released by Pitchfork today in the form of the track, “Parentheses”.  The song deals a heavy dose of guitar and Silberman’s signature falsetto, replacing the piano and atmospheric synth found on their previous material with guitar riffs and steady drums.  Stream the track below and watch out for the new album in May!
