TAKEN BY TREES’ OTHER WORLDLY SINGLE [FREE MP3]

Victoria Bergsman, the indie darling featured on Peter Bjorn and John’s 2009 hit single “Young Folks”, has recently finished a body of work under the moniker Taken by Trees (@takenbytrees). “Dreams,” the lead single off her forthcoming LP, Other Worlds, opens to a series of muffled handclaps and indistinct vocal samples, quickly making room for Bergsman’s voice to float in on a bed of atmospheric synths. The track, and conceivably the album, exists within an elegantly juvenile space. Victoria’s first line, “I know a place that we can go and you can get back on your feet boy” is indicative of the escapist nature of Other Worlds.
