RUBIK

549 days ago by Eric Weiner

The holidays are almost upon us and I have a very special Christmas/Hanukkah present for you!  Filmed last month at our home studio in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, this new ‘Honey I’m Home’ session features one of my favorite bands in the world.  Hailing from Finland, Rubik is a kind-souled group of gents that play eclectic, rich indie pop that is quite possibly best described as simply Scandinavian.  You can watch both videos below and download both tracks for free.  And for goodness sake, please don’t skip the second video, for their track “Karhu Junassa” wherein lead singer Artturi Taira describes the track in quite an amazing way!

‘Honey I’m Home’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie.  With each new episode, we welcome a different band into Sounds Like A Fire home studio in Brooklyn and record intimate versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.

EUROPE IM LEAVING FOR EUROPE

Hey there!  I am in quite the mood as exactly 48 hours from now, I will be on a Virgin Atlantic flight to London.  While I have a couple meetings over there, it’s really just a fun trip I’m taking with my friend, exploring parts of Europe I’ve never been and returning to places where my friends and family live.  Why am I writing this?  Well, I’d love to see if anyone had suggestions for my travels.  Places to see, bands [READ ON]
