Over the past few months, we’ve covered quite a bit of ground with Miniature Tigers – first with an album review, then a concert review and, most recently, a BuzzSession. It only seems appropriate to now feature them in #Follow.

Musicians who would like to get fans more involved can take a note from Miniature Tigers. Their main website features an interactive background with a mix of Instagram pics that have been tagged with #MiniatureTigers. The website [READ ON]

MINIATURE TIGERS

420 days ago by Eric Weiner

With the release of their third full-length album, Mia Pharaoh, Miniature Tigers have made a very conscious leap into the world of seductive/sexy, bright indie pop music (see: “Female Doctor”).  To match the nature of the album, we brought the band into Manhattan’s The Lighthouse on 162 Bowery for a Buzzsession.  It was there that the band performed “Boomerang” and “Afternoons With David Hockney” from Mia Pharaoh (which you can buy here).  As always, you can download both songs for free right under the video embeds.  Enjoy!

‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie.  With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City (or in this case, Westchester, New York) and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.

This past Sunday, Miniature Tigers (@miniaturetigers) headlined Bowery Ballroom in New York City for the first time in their careers.  Despite the rain and the fact that it was a Sunday, the band managed to sell out the show and delivered a sharp, memorable set comprised mostly of tracks from their recently released LP, Mia Pharaoh.  Opening duties for the evening were tasked by Geographer (@geographermusic), Chain Gang of 1974 (@tcgo1974), and Speak (@hearspeakhere).  Photos by the wonderful Erica [READ ON]

Brooklyn’s Miniature Tigers (@miniaturetigers) have been around for quite some time now, albeit under the radar and certainly less known than they should be. A slow but steady evolution, though, has moved the band towards a place of recognition that they truly deserve. Their newest release, Mia Pharaoh, is simply the logical next step for this solid [READ ON]

Another week here in New York City means another week of live music that will blow your mind.  Though James Blake, Yacht, and Twin Shadow are in town, it’s Brooklyn-by-way-of Rhode Island band Fang Island that snagged our #1 concert of the week spot.  Why you ask?  These dudes are outrageous performers who know how to have a good time. They’re also playing one of my favorite venues, Glasslands Gallery.  It’s a small place filled with strange taxidermy, mythological creatures [READ ON]
