Celebrating the release of their sophomore album, Hummingbird, Local Natives were welcomed into Music Hall of Williamsburg last night for their first of three sold out New York City shows. Opening act People Get Ready was outstanding, a percussion-heavy guy-girl combo that really packed a punch. Their song “Windy Cindy” hooked an unsuspecting audience and kept their undivided attention. Local Natives was most certainly not outdone though. They played a long set filled with [READ ON]

The Albums You Need to Know About Every Week

While the most notable releases this week may not be coming from any brand-new, up-and-coming artists, there are certainly a few veterans delivering music that feels like the first time — whether by changing their sound or returning after a long absence. Local Natives released the heavily anticipated follow up to their debut album, Ducktails delivered another groovy gem and Tegan and Sara broke [READ ON]

Hummingbird is the LA outfit’s sophomore album and my first real taste of what the group is capable of. The record may not achieve or even attempt [READ ON]
