Another year has passed, and with that comes our best attempt to gather our favorite tracks and order them from best to, well, the very best. This collective is about as subjective as it gets — it’s not something that necessarily represents what was popular or what certain sites wrote about. It’s simply the music we loved in 2012.
Without further ado, we present to you our list of the top 100 songs of 2012. While we had a blast putting this together, it didn’t come without an argument or two. What we agreed to below, however, is something we’re truly excited to share with you. These 100 songs are the tracks [READ ON]

BEST OF 2012
TOP 50 SONGS OF 2012 (SO FAR)
So far this year, we’ve had some pretty amazing developments in the world of indie music. The meteoric rise of rookies Purity Ring, Alt-J (more so in the UK), and The Neighbourhood, matched equally [READ ON]
KING CHARLES TEAMS UP WITH MUMFORD & SONS [VIDEO]
This may be a bold claim, but I can truly say that King Charles (@kingcharlesuk) is one of my favorite musicians. When I first saw him perform in London in 2009, his unorthodox stage presence had me floored — I had never seen someone climb the walls of a music venue sporting a sparkling unitard all while shredding it on guitar. His hair was another [READ ON]
KING CHARLES’ MISSISSIPPI ISABEL
Love Lust – King Charles // Buy
Mississippi Isabel is just refreshing. It’s sunny without jumping into a fuzzy, beach-y vibe, and it’s poppy without feeling like it belongs on top 40 radio. The songs will get under your skin and into your head quickly, meaning you may have to work extra hard to hide your glee on public transit this winter — because who wants to be seen smiling in public? In the confines of your own private dwelling, though, I dare you to not break out your most embarrassing dance moves. [READ ON]

As the weather continues to turn, it’s become harder and harder to film outside here in New York City. With London’s King Charles in town, however, the Gods seemed to smile upon us with a perfect fall day. Central Park is a sight to behold during this time of year, so it didn’t seem to make sense to simply film at a single location. Lightbulb — why not shoot on a horse-drawn carriage?
After meeting Austin across from the 5th Ave Apple Store and The Plaza, King Charles arrived with guitar in hand, ready for a nice little carriage ride. I must say, our trotter, Patrick, was quite the gallant horse as Charles played “Oh England” off of his newly released Alone on the Throne EP. After a 25 minute ride, we got off at Belvedere Castle, a fitting setting for this up and coming king. Watch “Oh England” and “Beating Heart” below.
We’d really like to know what you think of the sessions, so comment below!
Special thanks to Melanie Steinway for the amazing art above. For more of her work, click here.
‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.

We Didn’t Start The Fire – King Charles We Didn’t Start The Fire – King Charles
It’s been over a year now since we first featured King Charles here on TWHP. At the time, I was living in London, and stumbled upon his show at The Lexington, where he proceeded to climb the walls to the side of the stage. [READ ON]
