Sleigh Bells played a sold out show at Le Poisson Rouge last week with support from emerging artist Miya Folick. Folick put in an incredibly moving and powerful performance to get the crowd ready — with so much emotion in her delivery, it feels deeply authentic and engaging. She took the stage with a chic buzzcut and a white button-down dress and brought the crowd to tears with her poignant lyrics and guitar licks.
Sleigh Bells then brought out their pop-punk-metal sounds to the stage, delivering heavy drum beats and the electricity of frontwoman Alexis Krauss. It was a particularly special show, as the band, who could easily sell out a larger venue like Terminal 5, revisited the venue that sparked their rise during CMJ in 2009. The show was packed, and the crowd sang and danced throughout the entire show. Hopefully a larger tour and album may be soon to come!
