Those that made it to Cameo Gallery last night, January 6, can attest to the budding greatness of Shiv Hurrah. We’ve sang their praise since their debut EP landed in my inbox a few months ago, and after seeing them perform twice, my intrigue for David Bechle’s gritty vocals and well-structed narrative grows still.
Not to say the band delivered a flawles performance at the newly enlarged Cameo Gallery. Levels seemed a bit off, and Bechle’s vocals were drowned out by lead guitar and drums. Nevertheless, the quintet put on a fantastic show, complete with three brand new songs. These three tracks, entitled “Mountain Sip”, “Weird Sip”, and “Chicken Sip” live up to the performances found on the EP, but clearly need a bit of ironing out.
For a band that has only been together as a unit for a few months, Shiv Hurrah put on quite the show. I continue to be impressed by their poise and stature, which I presume, will only increase with experience. Download their entire EP for free above or on their BandCamp page.
