Today is a great day for sad sacks! Or, more accurately, it’s a great day for fans of really incredible songwriting that sometimes (often) is sad. We have perhaps the best Ryan Adams record in 10 years, which honestly, I could just stop there because that would be enough to make it a banner release day. But, the new release spirits did not stop there – we also have been blessed with the new records from Sun Kil Moon, Strand of Oaks, Jens Lekmen, Tim Darcy and Son Volt. By my calculations, that brings the sad white boy quotients up to nearly unsustainable levels. Luckily, Future is also in the mix to make sure that our emotions stay at least somewhat in check. Get listening friends, but be sure to keep some tissues nearby for your inevitable plantive tears.
