D.C. punks Priests have not lost their energy or anger since they released their EP Bodies and Control and Money and Power in 2014. The instrumentation on their new single “JJ” is still fast and loose, and singer Katie Alice Greer’s snarl is as powerful as ever. The obvious comparison would be any band in ’90s Olympia, but Priests have their own particular brand of charming anger. Find “JJ” on their full-length album, Nothing Feels Natural, out January 27 on Sister Polygon Records. Until then, watch the video for the single above, and see how long you can make it before all of the poking and prodding of the band members’ faces makes you incredibly uncomfortable.
