August 13 kicks off the sales for Portugal. The Man’s upcoming US tour.

Currently wrapping up their European tour, Portugal. The Man will return to the states to join up with Primus’ “The Oddity Faire 2010,” which kicks off September 20 in Idaho. Following that highly anticipated appearance, the band will appear at the Austin Music Festival October 10 in Texas at Zilker Park.

If all this touring wasn’t enough, the band also recently began work on their Approaching AIRballoons/Atlantic Records debut, slated for release in 2011, and finished production on a video for their single People Say. Since coming together in 2005, Portugal. The Man has made waves in the indie scene with their eclectic sound, electronic beats and complex melodies and the release of one album every year since 2006. Their collection thus far ranges from theatrical pop to hard rock to sci-fi chamber pop.

In addition to be a well-rounded band, Portugal. The Man is also award-winning. They lay claim to Alternative Press’ Best Vocalist of 2008 and were awarded an A- for their album The Satanic Satanist by Entertainment Weekly, among others.

Portugal. The Man is one of those bands that’s a force to be reckoned with. They’ve performed nearly 800 shows in just five years and there’s no sign of them burning out anytime soon. If you’re interested in seeing this band perform live, check out their tour dates below.
