And now for a band which my college roommate/best friend Lauren loves. Shout out to Lauren! The band I’m talking about is NYC indie pop band, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. The band has just released the new, whimsical video for their single Say No To Love on Stereogum.  The fun, summery, colorful video, helmed by Mix Tape Club (who has directed videos for Passion Pit and TV On the Radio) features the band’s keyboardist Peggy Wang through a mall, where she’s pulling a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off from band rehearsal. After a day of flirting and eating the mall’s various assorted foods, Peggy goes to the studio where the other members of the band aren’t there!

In addition to the Say No to Love video, Pains of Being Pure at Heart will also be playing the 10th Annual Siren Fest July 17 at Coney Island with Surfer Blood, Matt and Kim, and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists; after the fest, they’ll go on a mini European tour to promote the song! Check out their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thepainsofbeingpureatheart, as well as their new single Say No to Love,  released on Slumberland this past Tuesday!
