Adorable, quirky, tranquil. These are the words that first come to mind when hearing The Narrative, a New York-based band of three. She may be tiny, but Suzie Zeldin’s voice packs a punch. In their new demo, Fade, her voice dominates the track, while being backed by Jesse Gabriel on guitar and Charlie Seich on drums. Her smooth vocals put the listener in a sort of trance, leaving you wanting more.
Gabriel steps up to the mic in their song The Moment That It Stops, making for a harmonious mixture of male and female vocals. This combo really compliments their lyrics, which are nostalgic and passionate. It’s no wonder that they find themselves compared to bands such as Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service.
If you’re into melodic storytelling, you can purchase their EP, Just Say Yes, off of iTunes. The Narrative will also be gracing Brooklyn, NY with their presence on April 23.
