So, I’ve been trying to listen to a lot of different music lately, and being a new writer for the WILD honey pie has helped a lot; but sometimes, it’s just awesome when you stumble across a really interesting band that you never knew existed. That band, for me is Total Slacker. I met guitarist and lead singer Tucker Rountree, drummer Ross Condor, and bassist and backup vocalist  Emily Oppenheimer at an Earth Day street fair a couple of weeks ago where they were playing; I was instantly drawn in by their psychedelic and shoegazy sound. I also loved their energy and how random and funny they were; for example, Ross told me about how the band played a concert and this random old guy told them that they reminded him of AC/DC; of course, I thought this was totally bitchin’.

This band from Brooklyn has played venues such as Cameo and Shea Stadium (RIP), and teaming up with local bands such as NYU band Beast Make Bomb, Das Racist, and Naked Hearts in these next few weeks. Also, there will be a the WILD honey pie interview with them in the near future and they’ll be releasing their first album ever on 7’’ vinyl and cassettes this June . They’re an eclectic, awesome, hysterical band, so of course they made an eclectic, awesome, hysterical video for their new song, Magical Date Night. Have fun watching this. I know I did!
