Murder Mystery (@mmtheband) may not have made their way into your iTunes library yet, but I truly believe that within the next few months all of the popular blogs in this growing blogosphere will be chatting up a storm about this indie pop (sway-n-snap inducing) band that includes a brother-sister combo on vocals.
I really do love this band. For starters, their MySpace profile picture is the photo below. E.T. and MJ together at last. Jeremy Coleman (when my finger was covering the antenna on my iPhone 4, and I couldn’t hear him pronounce his last name, he repeated,”like Gary”) brings an “I don’t have to jump around on stage to impress you” presence to the band with vocals reminiscent of Say Hi. This is most evident in their song, Love Astronaut. Jeremy’s sister, Laura, is equally talented; spunky and playful, she can quickly brighten your day with her vocals in Healing Hands. The band wouldn’t be complete, however, without bassist, Adam Fels and guitarist, Graham Roberts (who also plays the Grahampiano).
On Sunday, July 18th, we set out with the entire band to shoot a montage of videos. What we came away with was a snapshot of a glorious summer’s day in the very hot city of New York (seriously, it’s really fucking hot outside). Empire State Building and all, I think we captured as many cliché shots as possible, but that’s the way we like it.
