The “Painted” lady sings again in the first track off MS MR’s sophomore album. So far, the New York musical duo, comprised of Lizzy Plapinger (MS) and Max Hershenow (MR), shows no signs of a sophomore slump with “Painted”. “What did you think would happen,” sings Plapinger frantically from the start. We have no idea what is going to happen in a track that seamlessly combines many instrumentals, from horns to piano to drums, and moves from a fast to slow pace in a matter of seconds. “Painted” mirrors the performers’ eclectic style, changing as rapidly as the color of Plapinger’s hair on tour. Their second album is set to be released sometime this summer. Until then, you can catch them on tour this spring in the U.S.
