Marika Hackman Left People in Awe Last Week [Photos]

Marika Hackman, who hails from Hampshire, England, played a short but memorable set opening for Laura Marling at Town Hall last Monday. Although she’s toured on her own and with Laura in Europe, this was her first time ever playing in New York, and her guitar skills, ghost-like vocals and insightful lyrics left the audience in awe. Marika played a few tunes off her EP Iron Taste and her debut album We Slept At Last which is out via Dirty Hit. As an added treat, she even joined Marling on stage later, the latter referring to her as the “quiet, talented one.”
