Skeleton Key – Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s (Buy)
Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s are looking to blow-up the music scene with the release of their third album, Buzzard, on September 21 via Mariel Recordings and Redeye distribution.
Embodying the band’s newly found energy and raw attitude, Buzzard strays from Margot’s primarily orchestral releases of the past. A much more forceful and loud sound is introduced from the get-go on this album. The opener, Birds, is filled with howling choruses and unexpected changes, while other tracks on the album, such as New York City Blues, are being described as “melody-driven” but with “teeth.”
Hailing from Chicago, this self-described punk band birthed this album inside an abandoned movie theater last summer that vocalist/guitarist Richard Edwards called home. They even turned the theater into a makeshift recording studio.

Clearly Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s are anything but so and so. They’ve got serious attitude, dedication to their craft and a killer vocal and instrumental line-up, all of which they plan to show off on a national headlining tour prior to and during the release of Buzzard (see September dates below).
