Shenandoah – Lucius Shenandoah – Lucius (Free Download / Buy)

Wednesday night, in the midst of yet another NYC blizzard, I ventured to Rockwood Stage 2 to check out Lucius for the first time.  True, we did a Buzzsession with them, but unfortunately I had yet to see them perform plugged in.  With the snow blanketing the city outside, a packed room watched in awe as Lucius performed a near flawless set.

Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe took the stage looking as beautiful as ever, and proceeded to celebrate Holly’s recent engagement by playing tracks from their 2009 album Songs From The Bromley House as well as songs from their upcoming release.  Though I blown away by the team of talented musicians backing them (including Dan Molad formerly of Elizabeth and the Catapult on drums), I was most taken back by the girls’ vibrant harmonies which translate brilliantly on stage.
