Lola Marsh Recalls Peril and Desire with ‘Sirens’ [Stream]

Lola Marsh – Sirens

Lola Marsh, hailing from Tel Aviv, brings some magic with this majestic piece of indie folk. “Sirens” recalls the mythological creatures that brought peril to passing travelers — the creatures that plotted danger (“Hear the sirens calling / oh the merry tune of sailors falling”) as the byproduct of inciting desire (“Need a lullaby to restore your glory”). The floating vocals paired with a sweeping, cinematic bridge work to bring the mythic into the present, conjuring the ever looming human lust for brilliance beyond reach. The band’s debut album will be released later this year, available through Anova Music.
