Adalai – Lohio (Free Download / Buy)
The video for “Adelai” by Lohio (@lohiomusic) starts off pretty basic. A suburban, autumn backdrop sets the scene, with close up instrument shots creating a direct foil to the soft nature of the song. Initially, this is pretty cool, but doesn’t really rock my socks off. ENTER GRIZZLY BEAR PINE CONE VIKING! HELL YEAH! The video then goes on to tell the adorable tale of an innocent young girl and giant pine cone monster, quite literally playing with fire. Where did this girl get all of these flammable objects? Why is she playing with a giant, horned monster? Where are her parents? Shouldn’t she be doing her homework?
For the weak at heart, I am sorry to say that this tale ends horribly for our imaginary friend. That said, Lohio has put together an entertaining music video driven by a unique storyline completely unrelated to the tune. Well done.
