Sydney’s Little May were one of the shining highlights of my CMJ this past year. The indie folk tunes comprising their self-titled debut EP and their all too brief live performances burst with urgency and dazzle with fervor. “Home”, the trio’s newest single, marks the start of their debut album and an exploration into further expanding their sound. A simple melody in lush harmonies flushed with emotion takes flight on pulsating piano and a pointed crash cymbal. Written a while back and reinvigorated as a part of the upcoming release, “Home” searches for a sense of belonging constantly out of reach. Little May’s debut album will be out before the end of the year, so don’t miss it.
