Watching Lianne La Havas perform is truly an experience. As part of her “Blood” tour, the London-born folk and soul singer performed at Park West in Chicago. Opening was Maryland singer-songwriter Keenan O’Meara who was a perfect fit — starting out the evening filled with soothing sounds. His music resembled that of other acoustic folk artists like Gregory Alan Isakov or Horse Feathers, and he played songs from his 2015 EP, Awful Creature.
Lianne La Havas’ set featured songs from her new album Blood as well as other favorites from her 2012 album Is Your Love Big Enough. From her gorgeous stage, which was covered with Birds of Paradise flowers, to her soothing voice and flat out stunning appearance, Lianne certainly knows how to captivate a crowd. Her amazing, enthusiastic and supportive fan base also made the set incredibly enjoyable. The crowd truly felt like a reflection of her, creative and unique. Throughout the entire show, she remained poised, as she both sang and played the guitar. Her gentle jazz-like voice is perfect for relaxing on a Sunday afternoon.’
