The ladies of Let’s Eat Grandma have just arrived with their debut, I, Gemini, a collection of songs that boasts sounds and textures that collide in unique and wonderfully tumultuous ways. As smooth tones and crunchy bass trade prominence, the album will easily burrow its way into your head. We asked the band to share what inspires them — what music has been important and shaped their last year. What we received is a collection of music from legends, pop artists and up-and-comers, all of whom have had their impact on Let’s Eat Grandma. Enjoy!
Bon Iver – 10 d E A T h b R E a s T ⚄ ⚄
This whole album is amazing, it’s just taken everything in a new direction.
Christine & The Queens – iT
She’s a legend. We met her briefly at Latitude, and we’ve been nominated in the same category as her at the Q awards. She’s probably going to win.
Frank Ocean – Self Control
We’ve been clear about our love for Frank Ocean
Declan McKenna – Brazil
He writes songs about really important things, this one’s about the corruption around the world cup.
SOPHIE – VYZEE
Another legend. He’s so good at making beats.
The Chainsmokers – Closer
We heard this all the time in New York for our first tour in America.
Gold Panda – In My Car
We saw them at Latitude, the visuals were amazing.
David Bowie – Lazarus
The intro to this is so cool, when the guitar becomes that hi-hat. The original legend.
Pumarosa – Cecile
We’ve played loads of shows with them. The sax in this is great, sax is making a comeback!
Rihanna – Needed Me
We love the darkness of it, loads of pop music is really sugary but this goes deeper. It flips the narrative on relationships, she doesn’t need a man, he needs her.
