Let AVERS Turn You On With New Track ‘Insects’ [Premiere]

AVERS are getting ready to release their new album, Omega/Whatever, on July 29, and if the tracks within are anything like the groovy, acid rock tune “Insects,” then it’s sure to leave an impression. With synth-rock instrumentals and hushed, intimate vocals, “Insects” is filled with mellow verses that perfectly melt into roaring choruses. The song, stained sepia in synesthesia and nostalgia, captures the emotion of feeling overwhelmingly unconcerned with struggle and strife — an anthem about our relative insignificance and simply “doing the best we can.” The resulting tune moves from a place of longing to a place of abundance with hip-swaying guitar riffs and oscillating synth sounds. AVERS ends the track with a playful plea to “let it turn you on,” so listen above, read more from AVERS below, pre-order the album and do just that.

Big picture transcendental stuff here. Basically riffing on how small and relatively unimportant we are individually and how that fact can really clash with people’s everyday lives. Painting a picture of that duality…
