AMETHYSTS have only been around about a year but have already told us a great deal with their first two singles. Their glossy electropop sets a moody vibe with dark synths that slink along clean spacious lines tethered by self-aware, lonely lyrics. Both tracks are extremely danceable but could also feel right at home on your bad day playlists, especially post break up. “Alone” laments and begs for someone to “make it all better” while “Wreckers” places the blame on our own shoulders for loneliness. And while the themes are clearly somber, they also feel more reflective — as though the Suffolk duo strive for the peace and tranquility their namesake is known for. Familiarize yourself with AMETHYSTS above. This will definitely not be the last you hear of them.
