I’m assuming that if you read this site you’re relatively familiar with Kickstarter.  For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, Kickstarter is an online platform that helps people raise money for creative ideas.  It’s used by individuals across the creative spectrum, though I’ve been exposed to it mainly because we get about 20 emails every week about one musical Kickstarter or another.  Instead of writing about each one we like individually, I thought it could be fun to make a habit out of searching through Kickstarter to find cool projects and promote them in a weekly series.

Brooklyn’s Via Audio is trying to fund the recording of their next album and has already raised nearly $3,000 of their $7,500 goal.  The money they raise will pay for a recording engineer, studio time, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, manufacturing costs and a publicist.  This is more than enough to get them on their way if they’re successful.

Best ROI: $10 will get you a digital copy of the album.  Pretty much you’re paying for it now and helping them make the record for you.

Chilling, heart-warming, and somehow creepy all at the same time, Hudson Branch is an indie folk pop band out of Illinois.  They have nearly reached their goal of $4,000 to make their new LP.

Best ROI: $60 will get you their entire catalog, 5 releases in all.  Great value and a worthy cause.
