Slip Away – Kathryn Calder

Kathryn Calder, The New Pornagraphers lead singer who “sings absolutely anything like a natural pro” (SPIN Magazine), is releasing a side project which features collaborations by artists such as Neko Case, Todd Fancey of the New Pornagraphers as well as members of Ladyhawk and Frog Eyes. After being the lead singer and keyboard player for The New Pornagraphers and Immaculate Machine for the last few years, Calder decided to set up an impromptu session in her hometown of Victoria, British Columbia and record Are You My Mother.

The album, which started out as a blank slate, became kind of a musical discovery for Calder; the ten-song album is a transitional record for the artist, her first venture into the solo performance world. With Are You My Mother? Kathryn Calder has crafted a record of timeless yet revolutionary songs that will cement her place in modern music.
