This past Tuesday was a very welcomed treat for fans of Brooklyn’s Jukebox the Ghost (@jukeboxtheghost). Performing their new album in its entirety at Rockwood, the band jammed, bantered, and charmed their way into the hearts of all attending. Not to mention, their new album, Safe Travels, is filled to the brim with bright, catchy tunes, perhaps even more so than their previous releases.
Jukebox the Ghost’s ability to craft intriguing songs has always been one of their most impressive qualities. While they maintain a level of mass appeal that encourages crowd sing-a-longs and broad audiences, they never sacrifice their musical integrity, focusing their lighthearted tunes into remarkable song structures and intricate compositions. Add to that the striking vocals of Tommy Siegel and Ben Thornewill, theatrical and emotive without being over the top, and the pounding percussion of Jesse Kristin, and the combination creates an absolutely stellar performance.
Safe Travels is set for release on Yep Roc June 12th, but there are multiple pre-order options to check out now. Be sure to catch their live show next month when they tour to support the record.
