Stop what you’re doing! You, stop it! Okay, now go over to a computer, and either download this link go to J. Irvin Dally’s MySpace to listen to some songs.

J. Irvin Dally is a L.A based singer-songwriter who has just released his Depistado EP, which in my opinion (and probably yours too if you did exactly what I told you) is so beautiful. This EP has everything from a song with tropical and brazilian beats (Brazil), to the song Wild Things which reminds me of the late afternoon and taking a comfortable nap in a hammock.

Dally even includes a song that has a country folk, Ryan Adams appeal, Sleep, which showcases his equally twangy, piercing, emotional voice. “Never been so close before”, he sings over light strumming and a dusty melody. Thick Red Yellow Glasses is both strange and yet comforting at the same time. Finally, we have to talk about Dally’s cover of  Rolling Stones’ classic Wild Horses; it is so beautiful and toned down, it almost makes me forget that the Rolling Stones did it. Almost. I advise each and every one of you to listen to this EP.
