Seattle-based band Ivan & Alyosha first garnered attention during SXSW last year, and have since been on the road touring, most recently visiting Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Tennesse, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Delaware, New York, Austin, Ohio, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and California. Their latest release, Fathers Be Kind, was released in February, and subsequently featured by NPR.
During their time in NYC last week, the guys made time to film a three song performance with us. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and their vocal chords, Tim Wilson, Ryan Carbary, Pete Wilson, and Tim Kim churned out flawless renditions of “Glorify”, “I Was Born To Love Her”, and “Fathers Be Kind” from the middle of New York City’s Tomkin Square Park. It wasn’t exactly the perfect day for this buzzsession, the wind was blowing, and the air was frigid, but the dudes couldn’t have been cooler about it.

‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
