Fearful – Beat Radio Fearful – Beat Radio (Buy)
Hey this Brian from Beat Radio. We’re a band based in New York. We’ve been making songs and playing around town for the last 5 years or so. I’m excited to be able to share some tales of my misadventures here at the WILD honey pie. I had started a blog of my own a few years back called A Cinema of Sunshine. My goal was always to use it as a sort of creative journal, but lately I’ve gotten so busy working on new songs that I pretty much just use it to put out new tracks. I’m hoping that blogging here will be a different sort of outlet – a bit more freewheeling.
For 2010 I decided I would put out 2 songs every month. So far it’s been a really cool experience, as an artist. In the past, I think I’ve often held on to songs a bit longer than I’ve needed to. I felt like every song had to be like an anthem or whatever. I still like to write big songs, but having to come up with songs more frequently has forced me to be a bit more spontaneous, less self conscious, and maybe a bit more courageous. Its been totally exciting and inspiring. Sometimes it’s scary, but I believe in the process, I know it’s taking me where I need to go. I’m proud of what we’ve come up with so far. You can stream/download the tracks over at our bandcamp page. My favorite track so far I think is a song called Golden Age. Here’s a video of us playing an acoustic version on our keyboard player Dan’s roof a few weeks back:
