What a lever title to this post right? Well, I guess not really, but I’m trying here! I guess I’m on an Australian music kick right now as I just wrote about The Jezabels, but if I had to say which of the two OZs I prefer, I’d have to say that Hungry Kids of Hungary is really more my thing. The band’s from Brisbane, which I’ve never visited, but if I could guess, I’d say that it’s a lovely place that definitely influences the sort of music that’s produced there. I say that because the music of Hungry Kids of Hungary is bubbly and an overall good time. Fittingly, the band has an amazing song called Good Times that is bound to knock your socks off.

Hungry Kids of Hungary is the “brainchild” of Ryan Strathie, and most definitely draws inspiration from folk as well as 60s rock bands such as The Beatles (duh?), The Beach Boys (duh?), and more modern bands such as The Shins and Dr. Dog. Any band that takes a page from the books of those aforementioned bands gets a large check mark in the awesome-ness box. Do the service of buying their album on iTunes (here) even though you (just as I am) are trying to save money and would rather illegally download it. Come on! They’re hungry! Enjoy the tune below.
