The 4 ladies from Madrid who make up the garage pop band Hinds are making serious waves in NYC. They hosted an album-release party at Palisades last week for their now released debut Leave Me Alone, and incredibly loyal fans lined up outside the venue hours before doors on a chilly Wednesday. Those who made it in before capacity were in for a real treat.
Hinds has a truly special sound. They incorporate some old rock guitar licks with crowded, beautiful lyrics, but their shows are really what set them apart. Frontwoman Carlotta Cosials gives off a positive, upbeat energy that really sets the tone for the whole show. The crowd danced and moshed all night and enjoyed special appearances from the likes of Shamir, John Eatherly of Public Access TV, and Neon Indian. The second portion of the show was actually karaoke, and fans could join the ladies on stage to sing their favorite Hinds songs.
It was the perfect show to kick off 2016, and the debut album is available now for your listening pleasure.
