A band who is known for their powerful dream pop (well that’s what I know them for), Here We Go Magic, has just released their second LP Pigeons on Secretly Canadian. Following the success of their 2009 debut LP Here We Go Magic, the five-piece band toured North America and Europe with Department of Eagles, Grizzly Bear, and the Walkmen, before recording Pigeons. After the whirlwind year of touring, recording in a living room of a rented house in upstate New York was a welcome surprise; produced by bassist Jen Turner, Pigeons is a fascinating labryinth of an album, filled with complicated melodies and poetic songwriting by Luke Temple. Following the release of the hazy and dreamy Pigeons, Here We Go Magic will be touring for the remainder of 2010 including Glastonbury, Pitchfork Festival, and Primavera Sound.
