It almost seems trivial to focus on something as small as a warehouse fire when people are being injured and left homeless as a result of the London riots. Still, indie music was dealt a pretty hard blow when a warehouse storing LPs, CDs for many indie labels went up in flames a few days ago. Beggars Group, which holds the incredible labels 4AD, Rough Trade, Matador, XL, Young Turks, True Panther and Too Pure, lost their entire UK stock to the fire [1]. A huge amount of money was lost, in a time when the industry needs it most. So, if you were planning (or not planning) on buying any records from indie labels any time soon, do so now—they need the funds to keep going and replace the stock that was lost. Our thoughts are with London and we all hope that nothing else will be lost due to the violence.
