Yesterday, before filming our latest live sessions with Hellogoodbye in Long Beach, Forrest, Joseph, Travis, Michael, and Andrew answered our questions while logged onto our Facebook page. Why do it this way? Well, first off, the band reads the questions, and you get to hear their responses right away.
More importantly, it allows you the fans to participate, and ask the band questions of your own. Check out what the guys have to say about their former bandmate, their opinion on the LA music scene, their status as ‘one hit wonders’, and more. Thanks to everyone that asked the band questions!
Hellogoodbye’s latest album, Would It Kill You?, is out now. Buy it here.

1. The new album is a clear departure from the Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!. You’re being received by different audiences now, is that something that you expected? Is it an exciting change for you?
2. What was it like to play the new songs live for the first time? How did the crowd react?
3. You guys were using auto-tune on your last record at a time when that wasn’t prominent in the rock realm. What do you think of it’s being adopted and accepted on a much more diverse scale. Is auto-tune and other similar production techniques simply a fad or are they adding something positive to today’s music?
4. It’s been four years since you released your debut LP. How has the process been different this time around?
5. How is it liberating now that you’re not tied to a larger label? How has the creative freedom you have with Wasted Summer affected how you write, produce, and release your music?
6. 2010 saw the explosion of chillwave, surf rock, and bands like Wavves and Best Coast. Do you feel that these sub genre of rock are a fair representation of the best new music coming out of the LA area? How has the Southern California music scene evolved since you began in 2001?
7. Can you talk about your recent house show tour? How many people were you playing at these shows? Any fun stories?
8.What can we expect from Hellogoodbye in the near future? Are you planning to make it down to Austin for SXSW?
