Today, we’re incredibly excited to share the subtle, emotionally resonant new release, “Dance,” from Melbourne’s Harry Permezel. The track’s bare, slightly discordant guitars lay the groundwork for an expressive yet resigned vocal delivery — Permezel seems to experience his discontent with a ghostlike sobriety, detached from the situation, but watching every moment.
This display is probably most impressive given that Permezel is only 20 years old. After making more electronic-focused music for a time, he decided to strip down the sound and style of his songwriting, allowing the most important elements to be in the forefront. With a sharp, incisive delivery, he’s certainly achieved what he set out to. Enjoy “Dance” above, and be sure to catch his self-titled debut album out November 11 on Muscle Beach Records.
