Wild Nothing - Gemini LP + Evertide EP
I really, really love this band. They’ve been my summertime, and I’m sure they’ll stay with me long after as well. At it’s core, the songs are terrific, but I love how it never feels forced– the band just lets each song go where it wants to and it maintains this hazy, lilting quality– always lovely. On each track I think, “oh wait, THIS is the song I really like” until coming to accept that I am head over heals for the whole thing. Bored Games sent a shiver up my spine when I saw them play it live.

Dream Diary - Demos
This is a young Brooklyn band that makes the Field Mice look like Pantera. Lots of good songs. Paper Flowers is the one that rips the heart out of my chest “Temple of Doom” style, but ya know, in an indiepop way. The recently signed to Kanine Records, so hopefully their debut will be coming soon.

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor LP
This is probably the #1 album of the year for me. They looked inside, found the thing that made them who they are, and just focused on that. An epic, explosive and triumphant record, it’s equal parts brilliant and brutal.
